Abstract

Berbicara merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting dalam berkomunikasi. Ada beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa dalam belajar berbicara seperti enggan berbicara, rasa malu, takut melakukan kesalahan lisan, dan kemampuan berbicara yang buruk. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) merupakan strategi yang tepat untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan berbicaranya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian yang berjudul “Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa dengan menggunakan Model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL). Tujuan dari penelitian Tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran berbasis masalah meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dan untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran berbasis masalah di SMK YPS Prabumulih dan jumlah sampelnya adalah 19 siswa kelas XI tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Dalam pengumpulan data, nilai rata-rata diiklus 1 adalah 61 dan di siklus 2 adalah 77. Temuannya menunjukkan bahwa PBL meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa. Selain itu, hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa senang dalam belajar berbicara dengan menggunakan model PBL dan sebagian besar dari mereka percaya bahwa model PBL dapat membantu mereka mengekspresikan ide-ide mereka dalam berbicara dan juga memotivasi mereka dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dengan baik.
