Ansietas (Kecemasan) merupakan reaksi yang normal terhadap situasi yang sangat menekan kehidupan seseorang. Ansietas dapat muncul sendiri atau bergabung dengan gejala lain dari berbagai gangguan emosi. Ansietas dapat berkurang dengan beberapa terapi salah satunya relaksasi otot, sering disebut Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). Terapi Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) merupakan relaksasi yang mudah untuk diajarkan pada pasien dalam rangka meningkatkan kemandirian pasien dalam mengatasi ansietas. Efek dari teknik relaksasi progresif yang berkaitan dengan mengurangi kecemasan klien dengan menurunkan tekanan darah dan denyut nadi. Terapi PMR mengendurkan otot melalui proses dua langkah, pertama pasien mulai dengan sengaja berkontraksi otot dan menahan ketegangan, kedua mereka melepaskan semua ketegangan dan fokus pada sensasi relaksasi. Relaksasi Otot Progresif (PMR) efektif pada sekelompok gejala yang mengalami kecemasan dan stres akibat perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Literature review. Pencarian literatur dilakukan terkait dengan Efektifitas Relaksasi Otot Progresif terhadap Pasien Ansietas berikut: Proquest, ScienceDirect dan Wiley dari tahun 2018-2023 kata kunci “Progressive Muscle Relaxation”, “Anxiety” dan “Relaxation”. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) mempengaruhi psikologis pasien terutama pada tingkat ansietas pasien. Progressive Muscle Relaxation ini dapat digunakan oleh perawat sebagai pendekatan non-farmakologis dalam membantu pasien agar tidak terlalu cemas saat menghadapi masalah mereka.References
