Abstract

The incidence of measles in Indonesia is increasing every year from year to year. Rubella is a public health problem that requires effective prevention. Surveillance data for the past 5 years shows that 70% of Rubella cases occur in the age group <15 years. To realize the highest degree of public health, efforts to prevent disease through immunization are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge and socio-culture to mothers' motivation to follow MR immunization. This type of research is quantitative with cross sectional design. This research was conducted on October 8 to October 22 in 2019 with a total sample of 95 people with systematic random sampling technique. The study population was all mothers with children aged 9 months to 6 years in the village of Tarai Bangun. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Analysis of the data used univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between mother's knowledge of mother's motivation to follow MR immunization with a value (p = 0,000), there was a significant relationship between socio-culture and mother's motivation to follow MR immunization with a value (p = 0.003). It is recommended for mothers who have children aged 9 months to 6 years to increase their knowledge by frequently attending posyandu and counseling conducted by Puskesmas so that mothers can know the benefits of immunization.
