DUKUNGAN DAN HAMBATAN MAHASISWA DENGAN OBESITAS DALAM UPAYA PENURUNAN BERAT BADAN

Obesitas pada mahasiswa merupakan masalah kesehatan yang dipengaruhi oleh dukungan sosial serta berbagai hambatan dalam upaya penurunan berat badan, yang berperan penting dalam membentuk perubahan perilaku sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi bentuk dukungan dan hambatan yang dialami mahasiswa dengan obesitas dalam menjalani proses penurunan berat badan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis dengan melibatkan 18 mahasiswa berusia 18–25 tahun yang dipilih secara purposive sampling di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, direkam, ditranskripsi secara verbatim, dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik dengan bantuan perangkat lunak OpenCode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menerima berbagai bentuk dukungan, meliputi dukungan sosial dari keluarga, teman sebaya, dan tenaga kesehatan; dukungan personal berupa motivasi diri, komitmen, dan disiplin; dukungan informasional terkait pola makan dan aktivitas fisik; serta dukungan lingkungan berupa akses terhadap fasilitas dan lingkungan yang kondusif. Dukungan tersebut berperan dalam meningkatkan motivasi, kepercayaan diri, dan konsistensi mahasiswa dalam menjalani pola hidup sehat. Di sisi lain, mahasiswa juga menghadapi hambatan internal seperti rendahnya kontrol diri, fluktuasi emosi, rasa malas, serta kebiasaan makan tidak sehat. Hambatan eksternal meliputi beban akademik, keterbatasan waktu, dan pengaruh lingkungan sosial yang mendorong perilaku makan tidak terkontrol. Keberhasilan penurunan berat badan dipengaruhi oleh keseimbangan antara dukungan yang diterima dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengelola hambatan secara adaptif.References
