VERTIGO PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II : LAPORAN KASUS

Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit yang menyebabkan komplikasi makrovaskular dan mikrovaskular. Kerusakan ini dapat berdampak pada sistem vestibular melalui jalur sentral akibat dari vaskular ensefalopati dan juga jalur perifer sehingga terjadi disfungsi vestibular yang mengatur dan mempertahankan keseimbangan tubuh. Manifestasi disfungsi vestibular fase akut paling sering berupa gejala vertigo. Laporan kasus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kajian data mengenai kasus vertigo pada pasien dengan diabetes melitus. Laporan kasus dilakukan secara metode deskriptif dengan cara mengkaji data pasien melalui rekam medis serta melakukan pemantauan perkembangan kondisi pasien dari awal hingga pasien membaik dan diperbolehkan pulang. Laporan kasus ini membahas bahwa disfungsi vestibular merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang dapat terjadi pada individu dengan diabetes melitus dengan berupa gejala serangan vertigo. Terapi Betahistin pada vertigo dengan penyakit diabetes memerlukan dosis konservatif yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pasien vertigo tanpa penyakit diabetes melitus. Pasien dengan diabetes melitus memiliki resiko terjadi disfungsi vestibular berupa gejala vertigo dan pentingnya mempertimbankan penyesuaian management dosis betahistin dan mengobati penyakit yang mendasari yaitu Diabetes Melitus sebagai tatalaksana yang komprehensifReferences
