SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTH PADA ANAK USIA 6 BULAN

Sekitar 1,5 miliar (setara dengan 24%) orang diseluruh dunia mengalami helminthiasis. Sebesar 16.263 per 100.000 anak berusia 5-9 tahun mengalami STH yang merupakan beban usia terbesar dalam penyakit ini. WHO mengakui bahwa helminthiasis adalah penyakit infeksi tropis yang terabaikan di seluruh dunia. Infeksi ini sangat umum di daerah subtropis dan tropis dengan sanitasi yang buruk, praktik kebersihan yang tidak memadai, dan faktor sosial ekonomi berkontribusi terhadap tingkat penularan yang tinggi. Pentingnya pemahanan, penatalaksanaan secara komprehensif serta pencegahan terkait infeksi cacing terutama pada anak. Telah dilaporkan bayi laki-laki berusia 6 bulan 3 hari yang dibawa oleh kedua orangtuanya dengan keluhan BAB keluar cacing 1 minggu sebelumnya disertai dengan penurunan berat badan. Anak memiliki kebiasaan memasukkan tangan ke dalam mulut. Status gizi kurang dengan perawakan normal. Tanda vital dalam batas normal dan tidak ditemukan konjungtiva anemis. Diagnosa helminthiasis ditegakkan berdasarkan pemeriksaan fisik, hasil allo-anamnesa dari orangtua pasien, dan dokumentasi visual cacing yang terdapat dalam popok pasien 1 minggu sebelumnya. Dilakukan pemeriksaan feses lengkap namun hanya ditemukan serat tumbuhan. Pasien diberikan pengobatan dengan pirantel pamoat serta dilakukan evaluasi. Satu minggu setelah pengobatan, ibu pasien mendokumentasikan masih terdapat cacing pada popok pasien namun dengan ukuran yang lebih kecil dibandingkan sebelumnya. Pasien diberikan albendazole dan setelah dievaluasi 1 minggu berikutnya, terjadi perbaikan dan tidak ditemukan efek samping dari pengobatan.References
