HUBUNGAN ASUPAN ASAM LEMAK OMEGA-6 DAN VITAMIN B12 DENGAN KEJADIAN DEPRESI PADA MAHASISWA ILMU GIZI UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH SURAKARTA

Mahasiswa tingkat akhir usia 18–24 tahun rentan mengalami depresi akibat tekanan akademik dan kurangnya pengetahuan mengelola gejala depresi. Asupan gizi, asam lemak omega-6 dan vitamin B12 diketahui memiliki peran dalam menjaga kesehatan mental dan perubahan suasana hati. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan asupan omega-6 dan vitamin B12 dengan kejadian depresi pada mahasiswa Ilmu Gizi Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Desain penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional pada 136 responden yang dipilih secara proporsional random sampling. Data diperoleh melalui formulir Food Recall 24-H untuk mengukur asupan asam lemak omega-6 dan vitamin B12, serta kuesioner Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) untuk mengukur status depresi. Analisis menggunakan uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan Rank Spearman. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara omega-6 dan depresi (p=0,026; r=0,191), serta tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara vitamin B12 dan depresi (p=0,068; r=0,157). Pada penelitian selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan variabel lain seperti faktor psikososial, genetik, dan biologis sebagai faktor pembanding.References
