VITAMIN C SEBAGAI TERAPI PADA TUBERKULOSIS PARU

Tuberkulosis (TB) adalah penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (MTb) yang dapat mempengaruhi berbagai organ, terutama paru-paru. Kuman ini berbentuk batang, memiliki dinding lemak yang tebal, tumbuh lambat, tahan terhadap asam dan alkohol, sehingga sering disebut basil tahan asam BTA. Vitamin C adalah vitamin yang larut dalam air, antioksidan, dan kofaktor penting untuk biosintesis kolagen, metabolisme karnitin dan katekolamin, serta penyerapan zat besi dari makanan. Manusia tidak dapat mensintesis vitamin C, sehingga mereka hanya dapat memperolehnya melalui asupan buah dan sayuran dari makanan. Reaksi Fenton yang dipicu oleh Vitamin C di lingkungan aerobik yang mengarah pada produksi ROS, perubahan lipid, ketidakseimbangan redoks, dan kerusakan DNA pada kultur MTB. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kepustakaan atau literature review. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sistematik review mengenai vitamin C sebagai terapi pada tuberkulosis paru. 4 jurnal dikumpulkan untuk ditelaah oleh peneliti dan disintesis menjadi satu data yang komprehensif untuk dilaporkan. Artikel-artikel penelitian yang dikumpulkan direview menunjukkan bahwa vitamin C dapat berpengaruh lebih signifikan sebagai terapi tuberkulosis paru. Terapi kombinasi antara vitamin C dan OAT dapat mengurangi Mycobacterium Tuberculosis dan tidak ada efek samping yang diderita oleh peserta penelitian.References
