Nifedipin merupakan antagonis saluran kalsium yang banyak digunakan dalam terapi hipertensi dan angina pektoris. Meskipun efektif, penggunaan klinis nifedipin masih menghadapi beberapa tantangan, seperti waktu paruh yang relatif singkat, kelarutan yang buruk dalam air, dan bioavailabilitas oral yang rendah akibat metabolisme lintas pertama yang signifikan di hati. Seiring berkembangnya teknologi sediaan farmasi, pendekatan berbasis nanoteknologi—khususnya formulasi nanopartikel—telah menjadi strategi yang menjanjikan untuk meningkatkan efikasi dan kestabilan obat. Polimer sintetik maupun alami telah dieksplorasi sebagai matriks pembawa dalam sistem penghantaran nifedipin berbasis nanopartikel untuk memperbaiki profil farmakokinetik dan karakteristik pelepasan obat. Artikel ulasan ini membahas secara komprehensif penggunaan berbagai jenis polimer dalam formulasi nanopartikel nifedipin selama dekade terakhir, meliputi metode formulasi yang digunakan (seperti nanopresipitasi, emulsifikasi, dan ionotropic gelation), karakterisasi fisikokimia dari nanopartikel yang dihasilkan (ukuran partikel, zeta potensial, efisiensi penjerapan), serta pengaruhnya terhadap profil pelepasan dan bioavailabilitas obat. Pemahaman ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan baru dalam pengembangan sistem penghantaran obat nifedipin yang lebih efektif dan berorientasi pada peningkatan hasil terapi pasien.References
