PENGARUH ASUPAN VITAMIN A TERHADAP PENURUNAN GEJALA COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME : REVIEW LITERATUR

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), atau disebut juga dengan Digital Eye Strain, merupakan sekumpulan gejala gangguan visual yang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan komputer dan perangkat digital lainnya, seperti tablet dan smartphone, yang terlalu lama. Tingginya prevalensi CVS dan dampaknya pada penurunan produktivitas kerja masyarakat usia produktif menempatkan CVS sebagai masalah kesehatan kerja peringkat pertama pada era digital saat ini. Dengan semakin tingginya penggunaan perangkat digital yang meningkatkan risiko CVS, perlu diketahui strategi yang efektif untuk mengatasi gejala CVS. Salah satu upaya yang bisa dilakukan adalah melalui pemenuhan zat gizi yang penting untuk kesehatan mata. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mensintesa bukti mengenai pengaruh Vitamin A dalam mengurangi gejala CVS. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat memeningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat usia produktif mengenai pentingnya asupan vitamin A untuk mengurangi gejala CVS. Studi ini merupakan reviu literatur naratif, dengan melakukan penelusuran artikel ilmiah selama 10 tahun terakhir pada lima basis data, yaitu PubMed, Proquest, Cochrane, SicenceDirect, dan Scopus. Penelusuran artikel menggunakan beberapa kata kunci untuk mengidentifikasi studi tentang pengaruh vitamin A terhadap penurunan gejala CVS. Sebanyak empat studi yang disertakan dalam reviu. Hasil reviu menunjukkan bahwa asupan suplementasi karotenoid (provitamin A dan non-provitamin A), dapat menurunkan gejala CVS, baik gejala okular yang berkaitan langsung dengan mata seperti meredakan tegang mata, meningkatkan kelembapan mata, dan meningkatkan performa mata, maupun gejala ekstraokular, seperti penurunan sakit kepala dan peningkatan kualitas tidur. Asupan gizi yang baik untuk kesehatan mata, seperti vitamin A dan karotenoid non-provitamin A, berpengaruh terhadap penurunan gejala CVS.References
