LITERATURE REVIEW : KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA BIOTA LAUT

Mikroplastik telah muncul sebagai masalah lingkungan yang signifikan, terutama di ekosistem laut, di mana berbagai organisme laut secara tidak sengaja menyerap partikel ini dengan mengira bahwa mereka adalah makanan atau saat melakukan aktivitas predator. Tujuan utama dari tinjauan literatur ini adalah untuk menyelidiki kelimpahan mikroplastik pada biota laut dan dampak potensialnya terhadap kehidupan laut serta kesehatan manusia melalui rantai makanan. Tinjauan literatur sistematis dilakukan dengan memilih sepuluh artikel relevan yang diterbitkan dalam dekade terakhir yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi tertentu, termasuk berbahasa Inggris dan menyajikan penelitian primer dengan metodologi yang jelas. Temuan menunjukkan tren yang mengkhawatirkan: mikroplastik terdeteksi pada berbagai spesies laut, menunjukkan masalah yang meluas di berbagai tingkat trofik. Secara khusus, tinjauan ini menyoroti bahwa mikroplastik tidak hanya menimbulkan risiko langsung bagi organisme laut tetapi juga memiliki potensi untuk mentransfer racun melalui jaringan makanan, yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi konsumen manusia dari makanan laut. Hasil ini menekankan perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk memahami implikasi jangka panjang dari kontaminasi mikroplastik di lingkungan laut. Sebagai kesimpulan, tinjauan ini menekankan perlunya pemantauan dan mitigasi pencemaran mikroplastik untuk melindungi ekosistem laut dan kesehatan publik, serta mendorong regulasi yang lebih ketat dan kampanye kesadaran untuk mengatasi tantangan lingkungan yang semakin meningkat ini.References
