Merawat kulit dengan baik penting untuk lebih dari sekadar penampilan. Kulit sangat penting untuk kesehatan secara umum, karena menjadi organ terbesar yang dimiliki manusia. Luka sering kali terjadi dalam aktivitas sehari-hari meskipun aktivitas tersebut rutin dan biasa dilakukan. Penyebab luka dapat terjadi karena adanya trauma benda tajam atau tumpul, perubahan suhu, zat kimia, ledakan, sengatan listrik maupun gigitan hewan. Salah satu bentuk luka yang sering terjadi pada kulit manusia, yaitu luka bakar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis efektivitas pemberian gel ekstrak kulit kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmannii) terhadap pembentukan jaringan epitel pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur wistar yang mengalami luka bakar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain true experiment atau eksperimental laboratorium. Penelitian eksperimen dilaksanakan dengan mengontrol semua variabel luar yang dapat mempengaruhi kegiatan eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control group design untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis efek pemberian gel ekstrak kulit kayu manis dalam mempercepat penyembuhan luka dan pembentukan jaringan epitel pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur wistar yang mengalami luka bakar. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan persentase penyembuhan luka yang dilakukan pada semua kelompok, ditemukan adanya proses penyembuhan luka bekas bakar pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur wistar. Perbedaan rata-rata persentase penyembuhan dari semua kelompok tampak berbeda. Rata-rata persentase penyembuhan luka bakar pada hari terakhir kelompok kontrol 77.5%, kelompok perlakuan 1 100%, kelompok perlakuan 2 100% dan kelompok perlakuan 3 100%.References
