Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji persepsi ibu balita tentang pengertian, penyebab, pencegahan dan penanggulangan stunting di wilayah Puskesmas Candra Mukti. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam dengan informan kunci yaitu ibu balita stunting, informan tambahan yaitu kader pos yandu dan pemegang program gizi puskesmas. Ibu mempersepsikan pengertian stunting cenderung kepada tanda-tanda fisik yang meliputi anak terlihat kecil, serta pertumbuhan lambat, dengan ciri- ciri badan pendek, kurus, lemah dan kurang gizi. Petugas kesehatan melakukan sosialisasi lanjutan mengenai stunting, edukasi gizi, keterampilan hidup bersih dan sehat serta KIA dengan lebih sering menggunakan media promosi kesehatan yang mudah dipahami oleh semua kalangan. Informasi yang digaungkan bukan saja berkaitan dengan aspek fisik akibat stunting dan faktor langsung penyebab stunting, tetapi lebih diutamakan pada akibat stunting terhadap kecerdasan dan perkembangan otak anak dan faktor tidak langsung penyebab stunting seperti ketersediaan air bersih dan sanitasi.References
