KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN KONJUNGTIVITIS RUMAH SAKIT MATA MAKASSAR PERIODE JANUARI – DESEMBER 2023

Konjungtivitis adalah peradangan konjungtiva, yang disebabkan oleh berbagai mikroorganisme, termasuk virus, bakteri, jamur, serta alergi dan iritasi kimia. Konjungtivitis pada wanita cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan pria, seperti yang ditemukan dalam beberapa studi terbaru. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk paparan yang lebih sering terhadap agen infeksius (seperti virus) dalam lingkungan rumah tangga dan pekerjaan, terutama di kalangan wanita dewasa yang terlibat dalam pengasuhan anak. Selain itu, wanita lebih sering mengalami bentuk konjungtivitis alergi, yang mungkin terkait dengan respons imun yang berbeda dibandingkan pria. Secara garis besar konjungtivitis jarang menyebabkan kebutaan atau gangguan struktural mata lainnya, tetapi perlu diperhatikan bahwa konjungtivitis sangat menular terutama konjungtivitis viral sehingga penderita harus memiliki kewaspadaan yang tinggi untuk tidak menyebarkan penyakit kepada orang lain.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien konjungtivitis di Rumah Sakit Mata Makassar pada periode Januari hingga Desember 2023. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif berdasarkan data rekam medis pasien. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 118 subjek. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konjungtivitis paling sering terjadi pada kelompok usia 18-45 tahun (35,6%), Jenis kelamin perempuan (60,2%), etiologi konjungtivitis alergi (39%), Tatalaksana terbanyak untuk konjungtivitis alergi adalah artificial tears. Pada penelitian konjungtivitis yang paling banyak ditemukan sampel pada kelompok usia produktif (18-65 tahun). Sampel perempuan lebih banyak ditemukan menderita konjungtivitis dibandingkan laki – laki. Alergi adalah etiologi dari konjungtivitis yang paling sering ditemukanReferences
