Hipertensi merupakan faktor predisposisi independen untuk gagal jantung, Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK), stroke, penyakit ginjal dan penyakit arteri perifer. Peningkatan dari tegangan yang disebabkan oleh tekanan darah tinggi pada dinding arteri memicu peningkatan akumulasi kolagen serta pengurangan, fragmentasi dan kerusakan dari serat elastin, sehingga akan meningkatkan percepatan dari perkembangan plak aterosklerotik, dan dapat berkembang menjadi iskemik miokard dan infark miokard. Kesimpulan: Penatalaksanaan pada kasus infark miokard yang disertai dengan hipertnsi sebaiknya sesegera mungkin dilakukan penanganan awal untuk mencegah terjadinya resiko penyakit jantung lainnya, sehingga penting untuk melakukan penegakan diagnosa awal dalam hal ini anamnesa terpimpin dan pemeriksaan fisikReferences
