LEUKOSITOSIS PADA EPILEPSI – LAPORAN KASUS

Epilepsi adalah salah satu kelainan neurologis paling umum yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan neurobehavioral pada anak mempengaruhi proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya. Beberapa penelitian telah menunjukkan leukositosis darah tepi ditemukan pada pasien epilepsi post-iktal. Jika tidak hati-hati, hal ini bisa berujung pada penyalahgunaan antibiotik. Kami telah melaporkan kasus pasien epilepsi dengan leukositosis. Seorang pasien perempuan 9 tahun datang dengan kejang tidak terprovokasi yang sudah berulang 4 kali. Pemeriksaan hematologi dilakukan dan ditemukan leukositosis (16.800/ uL). Penatalaksanaan hanya diberikan antikonvulsan dan tidak mencakup anibiotik. Leukositosis dapat disebabkan oleh peran katekolamin sistemik. Atas dasar ini, adanya leukositosis pada pasien epilepsi pasca kejang harus dievaluasi lebih baik sebelum diberikan antibiotik.References
