HUBUNGAN SANITASI LINGKUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA BALITA DI WILAYAH UPTD PUSKESMAS LOTU KABUPATEN NIAS UTARA TAHUN 2023

Permasalahan stunting yang terjadi pada masa kanak-kanak berdampak pada kesakitan, kematian, gangguan pertumbuhan fisik, gangguan perkembangan mental, kognitif dan gangguan perkembangan motorik. Beberapa faktor yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya stunting, salah satunya adalah karena sanitasi lingkungan yang kurang baik. Sanitasi lingkungan merupakan status kesehatan suatu lingkungan yang mencakup perumahan, pembuangan kotoran, penyediaan air bersih dan lain-lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan sanitasi lingkungan dengan kejadian stunting pada balita di wilayah UPTD Puskesmas Lotu Kabupaten Nias Utara Tahun 2022. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah case control dengan perbandingan kasus dan kontrol yaitu 1:2. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh ibu anak balita dengan besar sampel sebanyak 54 orang dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square dan Regresi Logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketersediaan jamban (p= 0,004:OR=17,5;95%CI 1,908-160,519), kebiasaan cuci tangan (p= 0,016:OR=5,5;95%CI 1,503-20,133), ketersediaan tempat pembuangan sampah (p= <0,001:OR=16;95%CI 3,150-81,264) signifikan terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita. Ketersediaan air bersih tidak signifikan terhadap kejadian stunting. Variabel yang dominan berhubungan terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita berdasarkan analisis regresi logistik adalah variabel ketersediaan tempat pembuangan sampah (p= 0,020;OR=8,2;95%CI 1,399-42,768) artinya variabel ketersediaan tempat pembuangan sampah signifikan terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita. Ketersediaan tempat sampah yang tidak memenuhi syarat 8,2 kali kecenderungan balita berisiko mengalami stunting dibanding dengan ketersediaan tempat sampah yang yang memenuhi syarat. Sanitasi lingkungan yang buruk merupakan salah satu faktor terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita.References
