Teori Peluru Ajaib

Teori peluru ajaib adalah keyakinan bahwa pesan media pencetus dapat meyakinkan audiens dengan memasukkan ide secara langsung. Hal ini mengisyaratkan bahwa media, tanpa perantara apapun langsung menyuntikkan pesan-pesannya kepada khalayak yang pasif. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan makna dari teori peluru ajaib, bagaimana asal-asulnya dan contoh dari teori peluru ajaib. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian pustaka (library research), yakni penelitian yang obyek kajiannya menggunakan data pustaka berupa buku-buku sebagai sumber datanya. Teori jarum suntik berpendapat bahwa khalayak sama sekali tidak memiliki kekuatan untuk menolak informasi setelah ditembakkan melalui media komunikasi. Teori ini di populerkan oleh Harold Lasswell (1927) dan ditamplkan pada tahun 1950-an setelah peristiwa penyiaran kaleidoskop stasiun radio siaran CBS di Amerika yang berjudul The Invansion from Mars (Effendy 1993 : 264-265).Downloads
