Dysmenorrhea is a problem for young women because it interferes with learning activities which can reduce academic achievement so that it requires serious treatment. Dysmenorrhea can be overcome with pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. One of the non-pharmacological approaches that can be used is hypnotherapy as a complementary therapy. This literature review aims to determine the effect of hypnotherapy on reducing dysmenorrhea pain in young women. The method used in this literature review study is to obtain from searching scientific research articles for the 2017-2021 timeframe using the Google Scholar, Garuda and ProQuest data bases. A total of 235 articles were obtained and then identification and screening were carried out to obtain 10 articles that fit the inclusion criteria. The results of the study showed that the average article had a p value <0.05 which actually had a significant effect in reducing the dysmenorrhea pain scale. So it can be concluded that the level of dysmenorrhea pain before and after hypnotherapy in young women has decreased. It is recommended for educational institutions to be able to provide information to all young women about hypnotherapy to reduce dysmenorrhea painReferences
