Recently, cases of acute kidney injury (AKI) often occur in children and even cause a high mortality rate. This incident certainly raises high anxiety in the community. The incidence and prevalence of ARF in children varies greatly due to various factors that influence the development and course of the disease. This study aims to identify risk factors associated with acute kidney disease. This type of research is literature review design by gathering several research sources in the form of valid articles related to acute kidney disease in children. After the article sources were collected, the researcher reviewed the published article sources to produce a new analysis. The sources for the articles in this study were obtained from several online database facilities or electronic sites, namely PubMed and Scopus. There are several cases of acute kidney failure that have occurred in various countries, both developed and developing countries. This disease is in fact influenced by several internal and external risk factors that have been proven by several previous studies. There are several risk factors for acute kidney failure in children, namely diethylene glycol poisoning, history of kidney transplantation, socio-demography, prerenal conditions, history of comorbidities, systemic disease, congenital heart disease, duration of use of mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapy, and pediatric factor. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out counseling related to risk factors associated with acute kidney failure so that morbidity and mortality rates can be lower.References
