Anemia among pregnant women remains a significant public health problem that affects both maternal and fetal health outcomes, requiring comprehensive preventive strategies through maternal health services. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with anemia among pregnant women, including maternal age, gestational age, parity, level of knowledge, antenatal care visits, and adherence to iron tablet use. An analytic cross-sectional survey design was employed, and the study was conducted at RSUD dr. La Palaloi, Maros Regency. A total of 55 pregnant women were selected as respondents using a consecutive sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and medical record reviews and analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed that gestational age, antenatal care visits, and compliance with iron tablet consumption were significantly associated with anemia among pregnant women. Pregnant women with high-risk gestational age, incomplete antenatal care visits, and non-compliance with iron tablet consumption showed a higher proportion of moderate anemia. In contrast, maternal age, parity, and knowledge level were not significantly associated with anemia. These results indicate that physiological changes during pregnancy and adherence to health services and interventions play a more critical role in the development of anemia than demographic characteristics or cognitive factors. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening antenatal care services and improving compliance with iron supplementation as key strategies to reduce the incidence of anemia among pregnant women.Downloads
