(Walker & Avant, 2018; Alligood, 2022). Postoperative anxiety is a common psychological response experienced by patients following surgical procedures. Poorly managed anxiety may negatively impact recovery by increasing pain perception, prolonging length of stay, and hindering both physiological and psychological adaptation. This study aims to analyze the concept of patient adaptation with postoperative anxiety based on Roy’s Adaptation Model using Walker and Avant’s concept analysis approach. Eight stages of analysis were conducted to identify defining attributes, antecedents, consequences, and to establish an operational definition of the concept. The analysis revealed that adaptation in postoperative patients is characterized by the ability to regulate emotional responses, maintain physiological stability, achieve self‐acceptance, and receive adequate social and spiritual support. The main defining attributes include stabilized physiological responses, emotional regulation, effective coping, social support, and acceptance of postoperative conditions. This conceptualization of adaptation may serve as a foundation for nursing interventions focused on enhancing adaptive responses and reducing anxiety among postoperative patients (Walker & Avant, 2018; Alligood, 2022).Downloads
