Abstract Preventive measures can be carried out, to prevent the occurrence of dental caries in children, which is the application of fissure sealants. One of the sealant material is flowable composite resin, which has a low viscosity and have a fluoride content of the filler. The content of fluoride can prevent demineralization of dental caries. Fluoride ion release can be influenced by the acidity of pH. The state of the oral cavity with a low pH, causes the restorative material releases fluoride ions is greater, than in the state of high pH. UHT milk is a milk which is often consumed by people. UHT milk acid content can lead to the acid environment of the oral cavity, and affects the release of fluoride ions. This study aims to determine the levels of fluoride ion release, from the flowable composite resin immersion UHT milk. This type of research is ekspermental labratoris with true experimental design, with type posttest control group design. This study consists of five treatment groups, consisting of a group of immersion 6 hours and 12 hours of UHT milk, and 6 hours and 12 hours of distilled water, and a control group without immersion (each group n = 5). Data were analyzed with the Kruskall Wallis test with p = 0.000. In Mann Whitney test, there were no significant differences in the immersion group UHT milk 6 hours and 12 hours. The conclusion of this study, that there are significant soaking UHT milk, to high levels of fluoride ion release of flowable composite resin. Keywords: Flowable composite resin, Fluoride ion release, UHT milk.Downloads
