Pengaruh Self Awareness Terhadap Kepatuhan Pemeriksaan KGD Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di RSU Royal Prima Medan Tahun 2025

Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus dikategorikan sebagai kondisi kesehatan jangka panjang (kronis) yang menuntut adanya manajemen diri yang baik, salah satunya dengan pemeriksaan kadar gula darah secara rutin. Kesadaran diri (Self Awareness) diduga berpengaruh terhadap kepatuhan mereka dalam menjalani pemeriksaan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian: menganalisis dampak Self Awareness (Kesadaran Diri) berkaitan dengan ketaatan pasien Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 dalam melaksanakan pemantauan (KGD) di RSU Royal Prima Medan, tahun 2025. Metode Penelitian: Studi ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan kuantitatif, khususnya dengan rancangan cross-sectional.Adapun hasilnya, dari total 44 subjek penelitian, ditemukan bahwa mayoritas partisipan memiliki tingkat Kesadaran Diri (Self Awareness) yang rendah, yaitu sebanyak 28 responden (63,6%) dan minoritas mengalami Self Awareness baik sebnayak 16 responden (36,4%). Kepatuhan pemeriksaan kadar gula darah yang tidak patuh sebanyak 27 (61,4%) dan patuh sebanyak 17 (38,6%). Hasil Chi-square didapatkan P-value sebesar 0,001 (<0,05) oleh karena itu, HO ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan: tingkat Self Awarenesspasien kondisi Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2. mayoritas kesadaran kurang, serta memiliki pengaruh signifikan antara Self Awareness dengan Kepatuhan Pemeriksaan Kadar Gula Darah pada pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 Kata kunci: Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2, Self Awareness, Kepatuhan Abstract Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is defined as a long-term condition which leads to requires good self-management, one of which is through regular blood sugar level checks. Patient self-awareness is thought to influence their compliance with these checks. Research objective: This study aims to examine the influence of self-awareness on the compliance rate of blood sugar level checks among individuals Type 2 diabetes receiving ongoing care at Royal Prima General Hospital in Medan in 2025. Research Method: The investigation employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study structure. Results: Self-Awareness among 44 respondents A strong prevalence of poor Self-Awareness level Based on the data collected from 44 individuals, the assessment of Self-Awareness indicated that most respondents were found to have insufficient Self-Awareness levels, with 28 respondents (63.6%), while a minority had good Self-Awareness levels, with 16 respondents (36.4%). Non-compliance with blood glucose level checks was found in 27 respondents (61.4%), while compliance was found in 17 respondents (38.6%). The Chi-square result yielded a P-value of 0.001 (<0.05), therefore, HO was rejected and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: The analysis determined that most patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) at Royal Prima General Hospital in Medan exhibited poor self-awareness. Furthermore, a statistically significant relationship was established, showing that self-awareness directly influences compliance with regular blood sugar level monitoring among T2DM patients.Downloads
