AbstractBreast cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide, including in Indonesia. Chemotherapy often causes physical and psychological side effects that can significantly reduce patients’ quality of life. Emotional regulation plays a crucial role in helping patients cope with stress during treatment. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between emotional regulation and quality of life among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at RST II dr. Soepraoen Malang. The study employed a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design involving 80 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) and the EORTC QLQ-C30, then analyzed using the Spearman Rho correlation test. The results showed that most respondents had good emotional regulation and quality of life levels. A significant positive correlation was found between emotional regulation and quality of life (r = 0.289; p = 0.009, p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the ability to regulate emotions helps individuals adapt to treatment-related stress. Therefore, psychological interventions focusing on strengthening emotional regulation strategies are recommended to enhance the quality of life of breast cancer patientsKeywords: Breast cancer, Emotional regulation, Quality of life.Downloads
