Sodium chlorate is produced in the industry by electrolysis process. This electrolysis process produces 2 main products, namely hydrogen and sodium chlorate. hydrogen is used in the process of making hydroclorid acid (HCl) and sodium chlorate is used in the process of making ClO2. In the process of making chlorate there are several things that must be considered, including: pH, oxygen levels in the degasifier, conditions of the hypo tower system, salt and chlorate concentration, and K cell factor. Based on the results of the above analysis, it can be seen that the acid wash cell is able to reduce the K factor of the cell. Do not run the electrolyzer if the cell voltage is above 3.5 volts. This is because at a voltage above 3.5 volts oxygen formation occurs, if oxygen meets hydrogen gas from electrolysis can cause an explosion.
Dwi Annisa Fithry , MHD Raihan Rawadi, Muhammad Yusri, Helmi Azhar, Sutoyo Siburian Copyright (c) 2024 Dwi Annisa Fithry , MHD Raihan Rawadi, Muhammad Yusri, Helmi Azhar, Sutoyo Siburian https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/32909 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Perhitungan efesiensi absorber pada proses ClO2 integrated chlorine dioxide pada unit plant CM2 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/32908
This study focuses on 1) Calculating the efficiency of the absorber in the Chemical making-2 Unit (CM11); 2) Finding out the factors affecting the efficiency of the absorber in Chemical making-2 (CM11). The introduction highlights the importance of stability and efficiency in battery charging to enhance battery life and performance. Simulations were conducted to evaluate the system's response to each control method. The Open loop method produced an output voltage of 35V with a fast response time of 24.036 ms but suffered from significant ripple. PID control improved stability with a lower overshoot (0.248%) but slower response time (26.730 ms), and the ripple remained visible. The State feedback method, especially with a matrix gain of K2 = [-1 10 15], yielded the best performance, achieving the fastest response time of 4.779 ms, an overshoot of 0.497%, and no ripple in the output voltage. Based on these results, State feedback control is recommended for battery charging applications requiring stable and efficient voltage. Simulation results show that the Interleaved Boost Converter with LQR control produces a stable output voltage of 28 volts with the fastest response time (9.629 µs) and no overshoot. In contrast, the PID control configuration delivers an output voltage of 28.46 volts with a maximum overshoot of 0.510% and a slower response time (25.177 µs). The open loop configuration, despite having the fastest response time (19.768 µs), results in significant voltage ripple. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that LQR control is superior in terms of stability and quick response and is recommended for applications requiring high performance. Future research is suggested to focus on optimizing PID control parameters and evaluating LQR performance under dynamic load conditions
Ade Safitra, I Ketut Wiryajati, I Made Ari Nrartha Copyright (c) 2024 Ade Safitra, I Ketut Wiryajati, I Made Ari Nrartha https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34578 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Reducing the rust defect rate of K59 cap fuel filler products in the progressive pressing line using the DMAIC method http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34450
This research aims to find out how to apply the method to help analysed problems, identify the causes of problems in the production of Cap Fuel Filler K59 at Company defect level in production results. After data analysis, improvement efforts are carried out with the following actions: (1) making special placements for re-delivery parts; (2) changing the plastic layer to paper as a base that covers the surface of the box; (3) give skates to the parts in the box in the amount of 2 pcs/column; (4) adding a rust category to the Q-point to be posted in the production and checking area. After carrying out these improvement actions, the number of defects in the products produced decreased and this was indicated by an increase in the sigma value from 3.6% to 3.9%.
Wanda Gilang Ramadhan, Arvita Emarilis Intani, Sutrisno Aji Prasetyo Copyright (c) 2024 Wanda Gilang Ramadhan, Arvita Emarilis Intani, Sutrisno Aji Prasetyo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34450 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis kerusakan dan strategi perawatan pada ketel uap pipa air Miura Eh – 750F di Workshop Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34428
Pumps play an important role in moving fluids from one place to another. In this study, the Ebara 125 x 100 FS4KA centrifugal pump was used. The thing that made the author interested in conducting this research was the reduction in the performance of the centrifugal pump to circulate water from the training pool to the holding tank and back to the pool. The aim of this was to determine the factors causing the decline in the performance of the centrifugal pump. The method used is observation through data collection and data processing, data obtained from the field, namely wear and tear on the impeller diameter, which greatly influences pump performance. Before the pump was repaired with an impeller diameter of 245 mm, the pump capacity was 78 m3/hour, the pump hydraulic power was 5.8 Kw, the pump head was 27.4 m, the pump efficiency was 43.20%, and the fluid speed was 1,014 m/sec. After repairing the Ebara 125 x 100 FS4KA centrifugal pump by replacing the impeller size by 250 mm, the performance of the Ebara 125 x 100 FS4KA centrifugal pump increased by 80 m3/hour, pump hydraulic power 6.04 KW, pump head 28 m, pump efficiency of 45.24%, and fluid velocity of 1,032 m/sec.
Syamsyir Syamsyir, Melda Yanti , Hasri Devin Copyright (c) 2024 Syamsyir Syamsyir, Melda Yanti , Hasri Devin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34428 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Literature review : Conditional based maintenance in manufacture industry http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34377
Manufacturing companies are increasingly dependent on the performance of their equipment to remain competitive. This route facilitates not only community mobilization but also the transportation of heavy mining equipment. Daily, the road endures heavy vehicle traffic carrying logistics, which increases the volume and load on this route, leading to pavement layer damage and a decline in service quality. This study aims to analyze the road surface conditions and determine the appropriate handling program using the Surface Distress Index (SDI) and International Roughness Index (IRI) methods, spanning from STA 0+000 to STA 5+500 over a segment length of 5.5 km. Subsequently, it plans the pavement layer thickness design for segments with severe surface damage using the 2017 Pavement Design Manual. The study results indicate that, according to the SDI method, 47% of the road is in good condition, 24% in moderate condition, 16% in minor damage, and 13% in severe damage. According to the IRI method, 27% of the road is in good condition, 49% in moderate condition, 15% in minor damage, and 9% in severe damage. Based on SDI and IRI values, a handling program comprising routine maintenance, periodic maintenance, and reconstruction is established. The pavement layer thickness calculation, based on the 2017 Pavement Design Manual, recommends asphalt pavement with granular base layers, comprising AC WC with a thickness of 40 mm, AC BC with 60 mm, AC Base with 80 mm, and Class A Granular Base with a thickness of 300 mm, along with subgrade improvement with a planned thickness of 200 mm.
Andi Alifuddin, Andi Nurfadillah Alifuddin, Asma Massara Copyright (c) 2024 Andi Alifuddin, Andi Nurfadillah Alifuddin, Asma Massara https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34337 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 K Kajian hambatan samping terhadap kinerja ruas pada kawasan komersil (studi kasus: Jalan Boulevard kota Makassar) http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34336
The traffic on the Makassar City Boulevard Road segment operates using a two-way system, with a significant volume of vehicles and frequent obstacles on the sides. It arises as a result of the presence of commercial zones, encompassing trade and service establishments such as offices, banks, stores, restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers, where transactions between sellers and purchasers take place. Hence, this study was carried out to investigate the influence of side barriers obstructions on the performance of the Makassar City Boulevard Road segment utilizing the MKJI 1997 methodology. The analysis reveals that the highest frequency of side barriers on the section of Jalan Boulevard Makassar City occurs on Thursdays at point 2 (in front of Jims Honey Store), with a rate of 592 pcu/h or 4.10% of the total number of side barrier events at that location, which is 14450 pcu/h. These side barriers are classified as high class (H) and are predominantly found in commercial areas with high roadside activity. Thus, it has been demonstrated that side barriers have a notable influence on the performance of the Makassar City Boulevard Road portion, leading to a fall in speed and capacity, as well as a decline in service quality standards.
Rafiqah Hamsir, Lambang Basri Said, Mukhtar Thahir Syarkawi, Muhammad Ridha Kasim Copyright (c) 2024 Rafiqah Hamsir, Lambang Basri Said, Mukhtar Thahir Syarkawi, Muhammad Ridha Kasim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal.universitaspahlawan.ac.id/index.php/jutin/article/view/34336 Tue, 15 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000
