Penerapan Model Group Investigation (GI) Berbantuan Simulasi Virtual PhET terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Sains Siswa

Hasil evaluasi terhadap sistem pendidikan yang dilakukan oleh Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) melalui Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) menyatakan bahwa skor kemampuan literasi sains siswa di Indonesia berada jauh di bawah skor literasi sains internasional selama mengikuti asesmen dari tahun 2006 – 2012. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan literasi sains siswa melalui penerapan model group investigation (GI) berbantuan simulasi virtual PhET. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest control group design dan subjek penelitian yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Data penelitian dihimpun melalui tes kemampuan literasi sains sebanyak 25 butir soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa aspek kemampuan literasi sains pada siswa kelas eksperimen berbeda dengan kelas kontrol. N-Gain pada kedua kelas menunjukkan peningkatan, pada kelas eksperimen didapatkan N-Gain sebesar 57,36 termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 41,39 termasuk dalam kategori kurang efektif.Downloads
