Pendekatan Behavioral untuk Mengurangi Perilaku Mengganggu pada Siswa di Sekolah

Perilaku menggangu siswa disekolah perlu mendapatkan perhatian serius karena akan berdampak pada efektivitas pembelajaran, suasana belajar mengajar yang tidak kondusif serta akan menimbulkan perilaku-perilaku siswa yang lebih parah dikemudian hari. Selama ini penanganan perilaku mengganggu siswa hanya ditangani dengan pemberian punishment oleh guru kepada siswanya, penanganan tersebut terbukti kurang efektif dan tidak membuat perilaku berkurang atau berhenti. Selain itu pemberian hukuman hanya akan menghentikan perilaku sesaat saja, dan lebih mengkhawatikan lagi apabila pemberian hukuman terkadang dilakukan dengan tindakan yang aversif, hal tersebut dapat menyebabkan hubungan antara guru dan siswa yang kurang baik, membentuk harga diri siswa yang rendah, menyebabkan rasa sakit dan ketidaknyamanan fisik, hingga rasa benci yang menyebabkan ketidaknyamanan emosional pada siswa dan menimbulkan permusuhan antara guru dan siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitati deskriptif yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan data sekunder berupa buku dan jurnal terkait untuk menemukan penjelasan dan jawaban terperinci mengenai bagaimana seharusnya pendekatan behaviorisme menurunkan perilaku mengganggu siswa di sekolah, serta bagaimana efek pemberian hukuman pada perilaku siswa di sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salah satu cara untuk memastikan lingkungan belajar yang terbaik adalah dengan mendorong peserta didik melalui pemberian penguatan positif. Dengan pemberian penguatan positif siswa akan belajar untuk memonitor diri mereka sendiri, mengatur waktu mereka, menetapkan tujuan, dan mengevaluasi diri melalui penguatan yang diberikan oleh guru. Pemberian penguatan positif yang konsisten dan disiplin akan efektif membuat perubahan perilaku pada siswa sebagaimana diharapkan yaitu perilaku yang adaptif. Misbehavior at school needs serious attention because it will have an impact on the effectiveness of learning, an atmosphere of teaching and learning that is not conducive and will lead to more severe student behaviors in the future. So far, the handling of student’s misbehavior has only been handled by giving punishment by the teacher to the students, this treatment has proven to be less effective and has not reduced or stopped the behavior. In addition, giving punishment will only stop behavior for a moment, and it is even more worrying if punishment is sometimes carried out in an aversive manner, this can lead to poor relations between teachers and students, form low student self-esteem, cause pain and discomfort. physical, to hatred that causes emotional discomfort in students and creates hostility between teachers and students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted using secondary data in the form of related books and journals to find detailed explanations and answers about how the behaviorist approach should reduce misbehavaior in students at school, and how the effects of punishment on student behavior at school. The results of the research show that one way to ensure the best learning environment is to encourage students through providing positive reinforcement. By giving positive reinforcement students will learn to monitor themselves, manage their time, set goals, and evaluate themselves through the reinforcement provided by the teacher. Providing consistent and disciplined positive reinforcement will be effective in making changes in student behavior as expected, namely adaptive behavior.Downloads
