TETANUS NEONATRUM : LAPORAN KASUS

Tetanus merupakan suatu kumpulan gejala akut, spastik, dan paralitik yang disebabkan oleh neurotoksin dari Clostridium tetani. Tetanus neonatorum umumnya terjadi akibat infeksi spora bakteri Colostridium tetani melalui pemotongan korda umbilicus dengan teknik atau alat yang tidak steril. Tetanus neonatorum berisiko kematian bila tidak di diagnosa lebih awal dan penanganan yang tepat. penulisan laporan kasus ini untuk memaparkan kasus tetanus neonatorum yang sudah jarang ditemukan. Laporan kasus ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap tetanus pada usia neonatus, yang mana prognosisnya tergantung dari deteksi dini gejala khas. Metode. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa sajian kasus berbasis bukti. Peneliti menyajikan kasus seorang anak perempuan usia 18 hari dengan gambaran khas kaku seluruh badan, trismus, risus sardonius, dan boxing position, serta tidak mau menyusu. Dari pemeriksaan fisik menunjukan tanda khas tetanus. Pada riwayat persalinan pasien diketahui proses persalinan tidak steril. Setelah kecurigaan gejala tetanus, pasien diberikan terapi human tetanus immunoglobulin, metronidazole, peniciline procain, serta diazepam. Kemudian pasien dirawat dan diberikan terapi komprehensif tepat obat dan tepat dosis. Kesembuhan dicapai dalam waktu sekitar tujuh belas hari.References
