EDUKASI DAN DETEKSI DINI ASAM URAT DALAM UPAYA MENCEGAH NYERI SENDI

Nyeri sendi merupakan salah satu keluhan muskuloskeletal yang sering dialami masyarakat dan dapat menurunkan kualitas hidup serta produktivitas. Salah satu penyebab utama nyeri sendi adalah peningkatan kadar asam urat dalam darah (hiperurisemia) yang dapat berkembang menjadi gout artritis apabila tidak terdeteksi dan tidak dikendalikan dengan baik. Kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai faktor risiko, pola makan, serta pentingnya pemeriksaan kesehatan berkala menyebabkan banyak kasus baru diketahui setelah muncul gejala yang berat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat serta melakukan deteksi dini kadar asam urat sebagai upaya pencegahan nyeri sendi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan edukatif dan preventif dengan desain deskriptif intervensi. Kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan kesehatan, diskusi interaktif, pembagian leaflet, serta pemeriksaan kadar asam urat menggunakan metode Point of Care Testing (POCT) dengan sampel darah kapiler. Pemeriksaan dilakukan terhadap 21 peserta di Dusun 8 Desa Sungai Pinang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 18 peserta (85,70%) memiliki kadar asam urat dalam kategori normal (≤6,0 mg/dL), sedangkan 3 peserta (14,30%) berada pada kategori tinggi (>6,0 mg/dL). Selain itu, beberapa peserta juga menunjukkan tekanan darah dalam kategori hipertensi. Hasil ini menunjukkan pentingnya deteksi dini dan edukasi kesehatan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam menerapkan pola hidup sehat, seperti pengaturan pola makan rendah purin, peningkatan aktivitas fisik, serta pemeriksaan kesehatan secara rutin guna mencegah terjadinya hiperurisemia dan nyeri sendi di masyarakat.References
