TINJAUAN LITERATUR : HUBUNGAN EMOTIONAL EATING DAN INTUITIVE EATING DENGAN BODY MASS INDEX PADA MAHASISWA

Overweight dan obesitas pada mahasiswa merupakan masalah kesehatan yang terus meningkat seiring perubahan gaya hidup selama masa transisi ke perguruan tinggi. Perilaku makan berperan penting dalam status gizi mahasiswa, khususnya emotional eating (EE) dan intuitive eating (IE). Tinjauan literatur ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan EE dan IE dengan body mass index (BMI) pada mahasiswa. Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui Google Scholar menggunakan kata kunci terkait EE, IE, BMI, dan mahasiswa. Sebanyak 11 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam studi-studi tersebut meliputi Intuitive Eating Scale (IES/IES-2) untuk mengukur IE serta Three Factor Eating Questionnaire-18 (TFEQ-18), Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (DEBQ), dan Emotional Eating Scale untuk mengukur EE. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa IE secara konsisten berhubungan negatif dengan BMI, meskipun beberapa studi melaporkan hasil yang tidak signifikan. Sebaliknya, EE cenderung berhubungan positif dengan BMI pada mahasiswa. Secara keseluruhan, temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa IE berpotensi berperan sebagai faktor protektif terhadap overweight dan obesitas, sedangkan EE dapat meningkatkan risiko BMI tinggi pada mahasiswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan perilaku makan dalam upaya pencegahan overweight dan obesitas pada populasi mahasiswa. Penelitian lanjutan dengan desain yang lebih kuat masih diperlukan untuk memperjelas hubungan kausal serta mempertimbangkan faktor perancu seperti aktivitas fisik, stres akademik, dan kondisi psikologis.References
