STUDI CROSS-SECTIONAL DESKRIPTIF : HUBUNGAN HIPERTENSI DENGAN KATARAK SENILIS PADA PASIEN USIA LANJUT

Katarak senilis merupakan penyebab utama kebutaan di dunia, terutama pada kelompok usia lanjut akibat proses degeneratif pada lensa mata. Hipertensi diduga berperan dalam pembentukan katarak melalui peningkatan stres oksidatif dan gangguan stabilitas protein kristalin. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara hipertensi dengan kejadian katarak senilis pada lansia di Poliklinik Mata RSU Kertha Usada. Penelitian menggunakan desain analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel diperoleh menggunakan teknik simple random sampling sebanyak 126 pasien lansia yang berkunjung selama tahun 2024. Data rekam medis dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Square untuk menilai hubungan hipertensi dengan katarak senilis. Hasil penelitian ini katarak senilis merupakan diagnosis mata terbanyak (69%). Sebanyak 42 pasien (33,3%) memiliki hipertensi. Proporsi katarak senilis lebih tinggi pada kelompok hipertensi (90,5%) dibandingkan kelompok tanpa hipertensi (61,9%). Uji Chi- Square menunjukkan hubungan signifikan antara hipertensi dan katarak senilis (p = 0,002). Nilai Odds Ratio sebesar 5,846 menunjukkan bahwa lansia dengan hipertensi berisiko hampir enam kali lebih besar mengalami katarak senilis. Hipertensi berhubungan signifikan dengan kejadian katarak senilis pada lansia. Pengendalian tekanan darah perlu ditingkatkan sebagai langkah pencegahan gangguan penglihatan pada kelompok usia lanjut.References
