Potensi Biji Ketumbar (Coriandrum sativum L.) dalam Manajemen Diabetes Mellitus: Tinjauan Pustaka

Diabetes mellitus merupakan kondisi yang ditandai oleh meningkatnya kadar glukosa darah akibat gangguan pada sekresi maupun fungsi insulin. Stres oksidatif memiliki peran penting dalam memperparah kondisi tersebut. Biji ketumbar (Coriandrum sativum L.) diketahui mengandung senyawa aktif yang berpotensi memiliki efek antidiabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah potensi biji ketumbar dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah serta meningkatkan aktivitas antioksidan. Kajian literatur dilakukan dengan menelusuri artikel dari PubMed, ScienceDirect, dan Google Scholar yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2015–2025 dan membahas efek antidiabetes dari biji ketumbar. Sebanyak sepuluh artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol, metanol, eter, dan air dari biji ketumbar mampu menurunkan kadar glukosa darah, HbA1C, serta stres oksidatif melalui peningkatan aktivitas insulin dan antioksidan. Dengan demikian, biji ketumbar berpotensi menjadi agen antidiabetes alami yang aman dan efektif melalui mekanisme peningkatan sekresi insulin dan aktivitas antioksidan.References
