PROBIOTIK SEBAGAI POTENSI INTERVENSI DALAM MANAJEMEN TEKANAN PSIKOLOGIS PADA USIA DEWASA MUDA : KAJIAN LITERATUR

Gangguan psikologis seperti stres, kecemasan, dan depresi banyak terjadi pada usia dewasa muda, terutama mahasiswa, akibat transisi menuju masa dewasa yang penuh tuntutan akademik, sosial, dan ekonomi. Ketidakseimbangan mikrobiota usus terbukti berkontribusi terhadap disregulasi emosi melalui gut-brain axis yang melibatkan sistem saraf, endokrin, dan imun. Probiotik dipandang berpotensi dalam menjaga keseimbangan mikrobiota dan menurunkan respons stres. Kajian ini menggunakan metode narrative literature review untuk meninjau bukti ilmiah terkait efektivitas probiotik terhadap stres, kecemasan, dan depresi pada dewasa muda. Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui basis data PubMed, ScienceDirect, dan Google Scholar menggunakan kata kunci “probiotik”, “stres”, “cemas”, “depresi”, dan “dewasa muda” dengan metode Boolean’s operator serta menggunakan artikel dalam rentang 2020–2025. Artikel yang disertakan meliputi studi orisinil pada populasi usia 18–30 tahun dengan intervensi probiotik dan luaran psikologis yang terukur secara valid. Sebanyak 11 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi, terdiri dari tujuh randomized controlled trial (RCT), tiga studi eksperimental, dan satu studi cross-sectional. Enam studi melaporkan penurunan signifikan pada skor stres dan kecemasan setelah intervensi probiotik, terutama pada strain Lactobacillus casei, L. plantarum, dan Bifidobacterium spp. Dari studi ini, diketahui bahwa probiotik memiliki potensi sebagai terapi komplementer non-farmakologis yang aman untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis pada usia dewasa muda melalui mekanisme modulasi gut-brain axis yang berperan dalam regulasi emosi dan stres.References
