Kata kunci: anggur hitam, anti penuaan, resveratrol ABSTRACT The skin has many important functions for the body, namely as the main barrier that separates internal organs from environmental exposure, also helps regulate body temperature, maintains water and electrolyte balance, and is the location of various sensory receptors such as touch, pain, and pressure receptors. Aging that occurs is often characterized by damage to skin cells so that the skin looks dull and unhealthy, not fresh, rough, wrinkled, the appearance of dark spots, and reduced elasticity. Resveratrol is a natural substance that belongs to a group of powerful antioxidants, called polyphenols. Resveratrol is found abundantly in grape skin. The anti-aging properties of resveratrol come from its ability to inhibit various proteins and enzymes that trigger skin cell damage and inflammation. This study used a literature review method. The literature was obtained by reviewing scientific articles or journals downloaded from PubMed, NCBI (National Library of Medicine), and Google Scholar. The results of the literature review and analysis of various studies can be concluded that resveratrol, a natural polyphenol compound contained in the skin and seeds of black grapes (Vitis vinifera L.), has very significant potential in preventing the skin aging process (anti-aging). Resveratrol can inhibit free radical formation, increase the expression of endogenous antioxidant enzymes, and reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory transcription factors. Resveratrol also plays a key role in repairing cell damage and slowing apoptosis and skin cell aging. Therefore, resveratrol from black grape extract can be developed as an active ingredient in dermatological cosmetics that functions to prevent premature skin aging.
