Hipertensi, yang dulunya identik dengan usia lanjut, kini menjadi ancaman serius bagi kelompok usia muda, termasuk mahasiswa, dengan meningkatnya kasus pra-hipertensi dan hipertensi akibat gaya hidup tidak sehat. Kondisi ini, jika tidak ditangani sejak dini, dapat memicu komplikasi serius di kemudian hari. Oleh karena itu, penyuluhan "Healthy Heart Starts Now: Cegah Hipertensi dari Bangku Kuliah" dilaksanakan untuk mengatasi masalah ini, bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa kebidanan tentang hipertensi dan faktor risikonya, serta mendorong adopsi gaya hidup sehat. Dengan metode edukatif-partisipatif yang melibatkan 54 mahasiswa dari salah satu akademi kebidanan di Banda Aceh melalui pre-test, penyuluhan interaktif, pemeriksaan tekanan darah, dan post-test, hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 7,30 menjadi 9,13. Meskipun mayoritas (87,04%) memiliki tekanan darah normal, 9,26% mahasiswa tergolong pra-hipertensi dan 3,70% hipertensi, dengan korelasi kuat antara obesitas dan peningkatan tekanan darah. Kesimpulannya, penyuluhan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mengidentifikasi risiko hipertensi pada mahasiswa, menegaskan peran krusial institusi pendidikan dalam pencegahan dini dan pembentukan agen promosi kesehatan.References
