PENGARUH SLEEP HYGIENE TERHADAP KUALITAS TIDUR LANSIA

Lansia membutuhkan setidaknya 7 jam tidur malam namum sekitar 50% lansia mengalami kesulitan untuk memulai tidur dan untuk tetap tertidur dimalam hari. Keadaan seperti mengkonsumsi obat-obatan tertentu, masalah kesehatan dan gangguan tidur yang mendasar sering menjadi penyebab lansia tidak mendapatkan tidur yang berkualitas dengan waktu tidur yang cukup. Hal ini umum terjadi pada lansia namun apabila terjadi berulang-ulang dan terus menerus dapat menyebabkan dampak buruk bagi kesehatannya. National Sleep Foundation melaporkan bahwa lebih dari 57% lansia mengalami penurunan kualitas hidup dan penurunan kesehatan akibat gangguan tidur yang dialaminya. Modifikasi kebiasaan, perilaku dan lingkungan sangat penting dilakukan untuk membantu lansia mendapatkan tidur yang cukup dan berkualitas, modifikasi ini dikenal dengan istilah Sleep Hygiene. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh Sleep Hygiene terhadap kualitas tidur lansia di Balai Penyantunan Sosial Lanjut Usia Terlantar Senja Cerah Paniki Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan design penelitian quasi eksperiment One Group Pretest-Posttest yang melibatkan 36 sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan metode total sampling. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index untuk mengukur kualitas tidur lansia sebelum dan sesudah terapi Sleep Hygiene. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat mengunakan uji Wilcoxon sebagai uji alternative karena distribusi data yang tidak normal dengan hasil yang didapatkan 0,000 < nilai a 0,05 sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan ada pengaruh sleep hygiene terhadap kualitas tidur lansia.References
