PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VITAMIN CURCUMA TERHADAP PENINGKATAN NAFSU MAKAN PADA BALITA USIA 3-5 TAHUN DI TK DAHLIA PUGER

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tingginya prevalensi gangguan nafsu makan dan malnutrisi pada balita di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah pedesaan seperti Puger, Jember. Masalah utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya asupan nutrisi akibat hiporeksia, yang berdampak pada pertumbuhan fisik dan perkembangan kognitif balita. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh pemberian vitamin Curcuma terhadap peningkatan nafsu makan dan berat badan balita usia 3-5 tahun di TK Dahlia Puger. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi-experiment dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest control group. Populasi terdiri dari 29 balita yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen (n=14) dan kontrol (n=15). Kelompok eksperimen diberikan sirup ekstrak temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) dosis 25 mg/ml sebanyak 2×5 ml/hari selama 14 hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol menerima plasebo. Variabel penelitian meliputi nafsu makan dan berat badan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan timbangan digital dan kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji paired t-test, independent t-test, dan perhitungan Cohen’s d. Kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada skor nafsu makan dari 47,8 menjadi 83,1 (p<0,001) dan kenaikan berat badan rata-rata 1,79 kg (10,66%). Sementara itu, kelompok kontrol hanya mengalami peningkatan 0,15 kg (0,82%). Perbedaan antara kedua kelompok bermakna secara statistik (p<0,05) dengan effect size besar (Cohen’s d=3,14). Vitamin Curcuma efektif meningkatkan nafsu makan dan berat badan balita usia 3-5 tahun. Hasil ini mendukung rekomendasi penggunaan suplemen berbasis Curcuma sebagai intervensi gizi berbasis herbal di daerah dengan prevalensi malnutrisi tinggi.References
