Pemberian Pisang Ambon terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Lansia Mengalami Hipertensi Di Desa Simpang Kubu

Abstract

Elderly is the final phase in the life process which is characterized by physical and psychological decline and changes, thereby increasing the risk of degenerative diseases or also known as non-communicable diseases resulting from the aging process such as heart disease, gastritis, diabetes and hypertension. This disease can be prevented by using non-pharmacological treatment, one of which is by consuming Ambon bananas. Ambon bananas have a higher potassium content than other types of bananas, potassium is the most positively charged ion intracellularly. Potassium plays an important role in preventing hypertension because it regulates fluid balance, electrolytes, acid base, nerve transmission and muscle relaxation and can reduce blood pressure. The aim of the research was to determine nursing care by providing Ambon bananas to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive elderly. The research was conducted on 14 – 18 August 2023, implementation was carried out for 5 consecutive days. The results of the research showed that there was a decrease in blood pressure in clients with a ratio of BP: 180/105 mmHg, which decreased until the fifth day, BP was found to be 145/85 mmHg. Clients are expected to check their blood pressure regularly, pay attention to the hypertension diet that has been taught and consume Ambon bananas regularly in the hope that the client's blood pressure will always be controlled.
