Status gizi merupakan deskripsi keseimbangan antara asupan zat gizi dengan kebutuhan tubuh secara individual. Cukup konsumsi cenderung status gizi baik dan kurang konsumsi besar kemungkinan akan kurang gizi. Hal ini karena status gizi dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor yaitu konsumsi makanan, kebiasaan orang tua, pendapatan orang tua, dan kesadaran orang tua tentang pentingnya masalah gizi, akan tetapi faktor konsumsi makanan adalah faktor yang dominan. Dalam penentuan status gizi menggunakan logika fuzzy, variabel input dibagi menjadi dua yaitu variabel berat dan tinggi badan. Serta satu variabel output, yaitu variabel nilai gizi.
