Abstract

Tujuan untuk dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran, pemahaman dan analisa mengenai strategi supervisi bagi pengawas madrasah untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan analisis induktif dengan mengesampingkan hipotesis awal penelitian, tetapi mencari pola, bentuk dan tema-tema untuk dapat mengungkapkan data secara sistematis. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah dalam pelaksanaan supervisi, untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, maka pengawas madrasah perlu memahami fungsi-fungsi supervisi yang merupakan tugas pokok sebagai supervisor pendidikan. Fungsi-fungsi utama supervisi pendidikan adalah: a) menyelenggarakan inspeksi, b) penelitian hasil inspeksi berupa data, c) penilaian, d) latihan, dan e) pembinaan. Hal inilah yang menjadi strategi bagi pengawas madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan.
