Pendekatan Whole Languange: Upaya Peningkatan Kemampuan Literasi Anak Usia Dini

Anak usia dini berada pada fase kemampuan pra-literasi atau literasi awal. Aktivitas literasi membaca masyarakat Indonesia termasuk pada kategori rendah dengan perolehan skor 37,32. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini merupakan action research menggunakan model Kemmis dan MC Taggart. Data hasil penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan perhitungan persentase kemampuan literasi anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pendekatan whole language dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak usia dini. Dengan mengenalkan kosa kata secara utuh atau tidak terpisah, anak dapat lebih cepat menerima informasi kosa kata baru berserta cara pengucapannya, dan memiliki kesempatan untuk mengidentifikasi huruf abjad yang terdapat pada kata yang dikenalkan.Downloads
