PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MAHASISWA SEKOLAH TINGGI ILMU KESEHATAN GRIYA HUSADA SUMBAWA TERHADAP HIV/AIDS

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Infeksi HIV telah membawa tantangan baru bagi kesehatan masyarakat dan masih menimbulkan stigma dan diskriminasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswa STIKES Griya Husada Sumbawa tentang HIV/AIDS. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif yang dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2023 dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purpossive sampling. Sebanyak 125 responden yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian dengan usia rata-rata 20 tahun, range usia 17-32 tahun, mayoritas responden adalah perempuan 78,4%, mahasiswa program studi kesehatan masyarakat 42,5% dan mahasiswa semester tiga 43,2%. Rata-rata pengetahuan responden tentang sumber penularan HIV adalah 75,0%, dan pengetahuan cara penularan HIV adalah 65,1%. Mayoritas responden memilih sikap netral 46,6% terhadap HIV/AIDS. Sebanyak 9,6% memiliki sikap sangat negatif, 27,2% sikap negatif, serta 16,0% memiliki sikap positif dan 0,8% sikap sangat positif. Rata-rata pengetahun responden tentang HIV/AIDS cukup baik, namun terdapat beberapa kesalahpahaman umum tentang HIV/AIDS yang berpotensi menimbulkan stigma dan diskriminasi. Perguruan tinggi memiliki tanggungjawab untuk menyiapkan calon tenaga kesehatan yang profesioanal dalam memberikan pelayanan di masa depan. Sehingga perguruan tinggi diharapkan dapat melakukan upaya struktur dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa kesehatan melalui kurikulum pendidikan, atau kegiatan lain yang relevan seperti pertemuan ilmiah, seminar, dan diskusi tentang HIV/AIDS.References
