HUBUNGAN ANTARA GEJALA DEPRESI DENGAN MEROKOK PADA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN DI SEBUAH UNIVERSITAS DI JAKARTA BARAT

Merokok merupakan kebiasaan menghisap tembakau yang dibakar atau menghisap asap berisi zat-zat adiktif yang dapat merangsang impuls di otak untuk mengatur atensi, suasana perasaan, dan jalan pikir seseorang. Merokok dapat dicetuskan oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah gangguan depresi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 86 responden mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Tarumanagara angkatan 2020 untuk mencari hubungan antara angka kejadian depresi dengan perilaku merokok. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah potong lintang dengan random sampling. Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil sebanyak 49 responden (57%) mengalami depresi, sedangkan 37 responden (43%) tidak mengalami depresi. Sebanyak 14 responden (16,3%) yang mengalami gejala depresi juga memiliki perilaku merokok, sementara hanya 4 responden (4,7%) yang tidak memiliki gejala depresi namun memiliki perilaku merokok. Penelitian ini mendapatkan bahwa ada hubungan signifikan antara gejala depresi dengan perilaku merokok pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Tarumanagara angkatan 2020 (p-value 0,045).References
