RISIKO DIABETES ONSET BARU PADA PEMBERIAN TERAPI STATIN: KAJIAN LITERATUR POPULASI ASIA

Statin merupakan obat yang sudah umum digunakan di Indonesia untuk terapi dislipidemia dan pencegahan aterosklerosis. Namun demikian, statin akhir-akhir ini dikaitkan dengan peningkatan risiko kejadian Diabetes Mellitus (DM) onset baru dengan populasi Asia diperkirakan lebih rentan. Maka demikian, studi literatur ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara penggunaan terapi statin dengan risiko diabetes onset baru pada populasi Asia. Telaah literatur dari database elektronik PubMed, Cochrane, Wiley, Science Direct, dan Google Scholar dilakukan dengan kata kunci “Statin dan HbA1c”, “Statin dan Diabetes Onset Baru”, dan “Statin dan Diabetes”. Literatur yang diinklusi hanya yang diterbitkan dalam 10 tahun terakhir. Seluruh studi klinis dan observasional diinklusi pada studi ini. Secara keseluruhan, studi ini menginklusi total 14 studi. Berdasarkan hasil telaah literatur, didapatkan bahwa terdapat adanya hubungan antara penggunaan statin dengan peningkatan risiko kejadian DM onset baru. Penggunaan statin meningkatkan risiko DM onset baru secara signifikan, yang dinilai dari peningkatan kadar Hba1c ataupun gula darah puasa pada populasi Asia. Penggunaan statin meningkatkan risiko kejadian DM onset baru secara signifikan pada populasi Asia. Maka demikian, penggunaan statin harus disertai pemantauan rutin gula darah dan tindakan promotive-preventif yang lebih agresif. Masih diperlukan studi lanjutan terkait dosis, durasi, dan jenis statin yang berisiko menyebabkan DM onset baru.References
