Abstract

Riau Province is one of the provinces that often experiences floods and this occurs in seven regencies in Riau Province, including: Bengkalis Regency, Indragiri Hulu, Indragiri Hilir, Pelalawan, Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir and Kampar Regency. Bangkinang Kota Subdistrict is a subdistrict located in Kampar Regency which is an area where some areas are always inundated with rainwater. This is because the primary drainage channel is damaged a lot and does not function effectively until there is an overflow of water and makes the puddle shoulder to the road body and emits an unpleasant odor. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of the existing drainage channels. The research methods used are field surveys and literature studies where the data needed are drainage specification data, satellite imagery and boundaries, and the administration of Bangkinang Kota District. The result of this study is that the drainage channel in Bangkinang Kota District has 5 channels and 3 Petai River channels of  different sizes in each channel but there is a lot of garbage, soil, and stones that result in silting of the channel so that it cannot drain water. Some of the primary channels connected to the drainage are covered by wood – wood and concrete plate waste that serves as sidewalks and stalls for local communities.
